The Pogues frontman will be the subject of ‘Shane’ – directed by Julien Temple and produced by Johnny Depp.

The documentary, which is yet to have a release date, will provide inside look at MacGowan’s life, revealing his “true punk and poetic nature” through a combination of animation, unseen footage from Temples’ own archives, and contributions from collaborators, artists and from his family.

With a critically acclaimed catalogue of songs and an Ivors Inspiration Award under his belt, ‘Shane’ will explore what filmmakers call his “seemingly effortless facility for writing lyrics to some of the world’s most listened to songs.”
